hello stranger. i've been hanging around in lj forever and longer, but this is the first time i really mean BUSINESS. err. so i'm a finnish high school dropout, currently working in london as a nanny. i know, a kiddo looking after kiddos how rad is that lol! i just love 'em.
few random facts? hm.
i don't know how to go to sleep, which means i'm usually awake until i pass out.
i hate it when people expect something from me.
i have problems with food; i either eat too much or then i don't eat anything.
i have a teddy called nilla and he follows me everywhere.
i love dimples (serious obsession), freckles, photographs and kind people.
i have so bad memory (like, seriously bad) that i'm afraid that if i don't write things down like this, i'm soon going to forget who i am. or was. basically the same thing, because who i was is what i am. i just stopped burning bridges.

| | the music
i'm usually too lazy and too poor to get into new music, which means i have 4759 songs on my iPod and they very rarely change. of course everyone has the band. u'know, the one that saved your soul and all that? that band, for me, is TRAVIS. my music obsession number one.
i also like some a bit similar acts like radiohead, U2, death cad for cutie, oasis, muse, bloc party and all those. also david bowie was my first crush at the tender age of 4 and it's still going, alongside the other three brilliant veterans bob dylan, joni mitchell and eric clapton.
the best band formed after the 90's has to be the killers, and other really dear bands/artists to me are counting crows, ultra bra, cat power, david gray, the crash, stars, placebo, the beatles, michael jackson, teitur and queen. last but certainly not least, mcfly has the best pop tunes ever. i'm fanatic about them really.
i also love movie soundtracks and musicals, one hit wonders, old school ballads and some really random classical music pieces.
gigs and concerts are the best thing ever, it's the ultimate high.

| | rambling
i must be the worst combo ever 'cause i can be such a geek but i don't have half of the brains geeks usually possess. luckily i have asperger syndrome which gives me almost unhealthy focus on things that fascinate me so at least i'm never bored haha.
i feed my inner nerd with great trilogies like lord of the rings and star wars (the old ones!!). my favourite films also include moulin rouge, everything is illuminated, breakfast on pluto, stand by me, trainspotting, in bruges, amélie, big fish, all films made by hayao miyazaki and, hands down, brokeback mountain is the best damn thing ever made. i'm a cinema addict and there's never a week when i'm not sitting infront of the big screen (first row yes please if i can decide). you just lose yourself in there.
i don't watch tv that much. my favourite shows are the ones i watched with my dad when i was just a wee little thing, though there are few newer shows which i do enjoy; 3rd rock from the sun, skins, the l word, the mighty boosh, supernatural, csi las vegas etc. i prefer movies though. my favourite actors and actresses are heath ledger, cillian murphy, cate blanchett, brendan gleeson and robert carlyle.
from books my all time favourites are watership down, the unknown soldier and emily of new moon, plus all the books by veikko huovinen. i learned to read just before i turned 8 and i never really read any children's books; instead i started to read my parents books straight away, including mika waltari's the egyptian. skipping kiddies books almost completely when i was young is probably one of the reasons why i'm swallowing tears every once in a while when i read bedtime stories to one of my kids. some of my other favourite writers are j.r.r. tolkien, tove jansson, kazuo ishiguro, joanne harris, irvine welsh and chuck palahniuk. and of course everybody reads Harry Potters :--)
history was always my favourite subject at school and i love books almost as much as my friends. because yeah i have friends, for the record. lots of them and much cooler than me too, they kick everyone else's friends' azz. they're ballet dancers, painters, musicians, actors. i've been those too but was never good enough. so these days i seem to be the one who takes her clothes of in the middle of the night and drags few other mental persons to run naked in the streets. that's my role and that's fine. i'm just a teenage dirtbag baby.
